Early in 2005, Cheshire Flying Services Limited, owners of Ravenair and Liverpool Aviation Services, acquired the Manx Flyers Aero Club, the longest established aero club operating at Ronaldsway, Isle of Man Airport.
Manx Flyers is an associate company of Ravenair, which offers a wide variety of aviation services from its bases at Liverpool and Manchester; these include aircraft charter, via its approved JAR-OPS 1 Air Operator Certificate, Aircraft Maintenance (EASA Part 145 Approved) and Aircraft Handling (FBO) services.
Manx Flyers operates a flying training organisation for the Private Pilot's Licence (PPL / NPPL) and its associated Ratings. The company also provides general aviation aircraft handling, refuelling and hangarage facilities. Air charter can be arranged as required and the company's management services are also available to aircraft owners.
The Aero Club is located on the South-East side of the airfield, overlooking the Irish Sea, close to the village of Derbyhaven. The site offers aircraft hangarage, office accommodation, car parking and a friendly club house facility with bar and food service.

The Isle of Man - Where is it?
The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea, between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, less than 60 miles West of the Lancashire coastline. It is 33 miles long, 13 miles wide and covers an area of 227 square miles. More that 40% of the Island is uninhabited.
The Island is a unique self-governing kingdom - a Crown dependency which belongs to neither the UK nor the European Union. It has its own parliament (called Tynwald), laws, traditions, culture, cuisine and postage stamps. But as a holiday island it is best known for its very agreeable and relaxed pace of life, along with a wealth of attractions and places to stay. And while other differences include the Manx language and currency (though English is the spoken tongue and English and UK currencies are accepted everywhere), there are also reassuring familiarities - such as driving on the left and road signs in English.
